Jehru

Jehru

Named for Jehu: 2nd Kings 9

King James Bible

 Murder Victim Jehru Donaldson

His countenance glowed

His eyes twinkled as stars

A constant look of boyish mischief

Innocent of society’s scars

Jehru

One who knew

Hard work, dedication, and determination

Would get him through

All of the above

Is what he was taught to do

Jehru

Named for Jehu

Who did not bow to evil

Man-child considered even still

Not a hard force to be reckoned

Just a meek, mild, and humble instrument

Of God’s perfect free will

What a bright son

To revolve around

For burning ashes and dust

Living down here on the ground

In the darkness of the dreariest day

Jehru’s pleasant smile

Brightened the depressed, gloomy way

Your light dimmed and flickered

We will never let it go out

Your spirit remains rooted

In our hearts without doubt

A soul of compassion

A miracle of God’s grace

Jehru, Jehru

Jehru-salem

Rest in peace

Amongst kings Man-Child

Take your rightful place
